Tom and Cathy's second wedding was a Roman Catholic Church ceremony held on
Thursday, May 24, 2001. The mass took place from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
at Sacred Heart Church on D. Jakosalem Street, Cebu City, Philippines. The wedding
reception took place from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Cebu Grand Hotel on
North Escario Street, Cebu City, Philippines. There were approximately 100 people in
attendance at the reception. We had a live band (Native Drifters) playing
various types of music. Everyone seemed to have a great time. At a
certain point in the reception later in the evening just about everyone in the
ballroom was out on the floor dancing.
The ballroom at the Cebu Grand Hotel cost 39,500 Philippine pesos ($790 U.S.) to
rent.
Here are some pictures from our wedding day. We hope you enjoy them!

Cathy
and Tom pose just after the mass has finished. Cathy is wearing her
beautiful wedding dress and Tom is wearing a barong tagalog (i.e., a traditional
Filipino shirt). The mass was an ordeal for Tom. The lack of air
conditioning combined with the barong tagalog and undershirt being too hot,
almost caused Tom to faint during the mass.

No
Filipino wedding would be complete without the kids! From left to right:

Tom
and Cathy take the first slice out of the wedding cake. It was so
delicious!
Tom
and Cathy perform the dove ceremony. The doves kissed and then flew up
into the chandelier. This was a great relief because we had feared that
they would hover above us dropping doodoo.
And
now it's time for the money dance! Neither of us knows how to dance so we
had to fake it. We really cleaned up during the money dance, taking home a
whopping 3,700 Philippine pesos ($74 U.S.) in cold, hard cash. Thanks
guys!
Tom
harangues the crowd like a politician. This was Tom's famous speech in
Visayan. Excerpt: Ako ay pinakasuwerteng lalaki sa kalibutan, kay naa
ko'y pinakamaayong asawa sa kalibutan! (Translation: I'm the luckiest
man in the world, because I have the best wife in the world!).
