Tom and Cathy visited the American side of Niagara Falls (i.e., the American Falls) in July 2002. These falls have a height of 176 feet and a width of 1,060 feet. Approximately 150,000 gallons of water go over the edge every second. All that water going over the cliff causes a tremendous rumbling sound which can be heard up to a mile away.
