Tom and Cathy returned to the Philippines in May 2001 in order to have a Roman Catholic wedding.  They left Houston, Texas on May 17, 2001 and returned to Houston on June 1, 2001.  Tom's mother Jamie traveled with Tom and Cathy.  Tom's brother Nick (who lives in Portland, Oregon) arrived in Cebu City a few days after Tom and Cathy did.  In addition, Tom's brother Chris (who lives in Seoul, South Korea) and his wife Jong Suk traveled to Cebu from Korea.  During our two week stay in the Philippines we were mostly concerned with the wedding.  But we did manage to do some traveling.  Here are some pictures taken during this trip.  We hope you enjoy them!

Jamie, Cathy, and Nick pose in front of Magellan's Cross in the heart of downtown Cebu City.  Legend has it that Magellan erected a cross at this very spot when he arrived in the year 1521.

This picture was taken at the Chocolate Hills in central Bohol.  From left to right: Jonavel (Cathy's sister), Ayan (Cathy's half-brother), Cathy, and Jamie.  The Chocolate Hills are mounds of coral raised up from under the ocean millions of years ago.  They form a spectacular view.  By the way, there are 1,268 of them and they range in height from 30 to 50 meters.
